Marco Island is a small sea island, or barrier island, on the Gulf Coast of the United States located 20 miles (32 km) south of Naples in Collier County, Florida. Marco Island is an affluent beach and boating resort island with a small-town character. Two access bridges maintain a gated community atmosphere.


The island is home to the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort and Hilton Marco Island Resort, a golf club, a yacht club, a country club, several parks, and nature areas. The six-mile crescent beach on Marco Island is among the widest in Florida and features bright white, sugar sand, and bountiful shelling opportunities. Strict beach regulations help keep the island free of litter, noise, glass, and fires.

Caxambas Park & Marina is a beautiful public water access point located on upscale Marco Island. The 4-acre park has ample parking, concessions for sale including sunscreen food, beverages, regular and diesel fuel, fishing gear, and more.


Launch here for easy access to the northern Ten Thousand Islands or Gulf of Mexico. A Coast Guard Auxiliary Building on site offers boating and safety classes

This tropical miniature golf course on Marco Island hits the spot for entertainment and family fun. Kids and adults will enjoy a game of miniature golf on this fun but challenging 18-hole course in a lush tropical garden setting.

South Marco Island Beach Access is one of two public beach access points on Marco Island – and the less busy of the two. This is a terrific beach for families to go shelling, beach fishing, or to watch dolphins playing in the surf. The parking lot and restroom facilities are located on Swallow Avenue and is a short walk across South Collier Blvd. to the beach.


Beach parking permits are available from the city of Naples or Collier County. Full-time residents and taxpayers can get a permit from any community park. Visitors (non-residents) must pay for parking at the pay station. The metered parking spaces use credit-card-friendly pay stations.

Marco Island Historical Museum is a history museum on Marco Island, Florida, Collier County, Florida. It is operated by the Marco Island Historical Society and is part of the Collier County Museum System.


Its exhibitions include information on the Calusa Indians and the history of development on Marco Island.
